Joann Schram, former Lake Country Reporter typesetter, dies at 81

Joann E. (Bitz) Schram, who worked many years as a typesetter for the Lake Country Reporter in Hartland, died Sunday, Sept. 20. She was 81.

Schram was the daughter of John and Mary Bitz. She married her high school sweetheart, Jim Schram, on Oct. 25, 1958. They were married 61 years and had two children, Cheryl and Dave, as well as five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

After moving to Hartland in 1965, Schram began working at the Lake Country Reporter as a typesetter. She continued in the role until her retirement.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., with a funeral Mass to follow at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, W856 Highway 18, Sullivan.
